The logistics leader was recognized for his outstanding contribution at TV9 Network Leaders of Road Transport Awards 2024 New Delhi, Friday 09 August 2024: Shri Jai Karan Sharma, Founder Chairman, Chetak Group was conferred with the title of " Lifetime Achievement Samman in Transport and Logistics" at TV9 Network Leaders of Road Transport Awards 2024. The award, recognizing his outstanding contribution to the logistics sector was given away Harsh Malhotra, Minister of State, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways anchor introduces Continental MD Samir Gupta. The award was received by Mukesh Haritash and Sachin Haritash, Directors Chetak Logistics, in the presence of Madhurendra Sinha, Member Advisory Board, Chetak Foundation. Speaking on the occasion TV9 official said , " We are proud to bestow the Lifetime Achievement Samman in Transport and Logistics upon the late Shri Jai Karan Sharma. His groundbreaking work and substantial contributions to the logistics industry have played a crucial role in making logistics a cornerstone of India`s economic progress. It was a privilege to present this award to Shri Sharma`s sons, who are upholding his legacy by bringing innovation, advanced technology, and improved customer experience to the industry.

It highlighted his transformation into a self-made entrepreneur, detailing his successes, struggles, tribulations, and triumphs. This inspiring narrative aimed to motivate future generations by shedding light on the perseverance and dedication that marked his path to success. The video not only celebrated his remarkable achievements but also underscored the challenges he overcame, serving as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs and young minds looking to make their mark in the world.

About Shri Jai Karan Sharma Shri Jai Karan Sharma, the son of a farmer, hailing from Jhinjhar, a small village in Haryana was a self-made entrepreneur who started from scratch and went on to build the Chetak Group, one of the leaders in Logistics, in India. His success sparked the imagination of a generation of progressive Indian entrepreneurs. He was a business statesman and visionary who introduced, what is now called Integrated Logistics solutions with multi-modal transportation, warehousing, packaging and just-in-time solutions, and way back in the 1980s. He stood for inclusive growth. He supported numerous potential entrepreneurs in setting up their own transport companies. He created livelihood opportunities for thousands of people. He had a passion for helping underprivileged people of society. He contributed to the education sector by supporting the infrastructure development of schools and colleges for economically weaker children. Shri Sharma`s contributions to the social and economic development of society at large have been numerously recognized by many national and international organizations. In the past he was awarded the "Transport Rattan" the "Rashtriya Udyog Ratan" Award, "Outstanding National Citizen" and he was also bestowed with the title of "Transport Samraat" and the "Udyog Rattan" Award by the Institute of Economic Studies. He left for his heavenly abode in October 2020. Posthumously, the Logistics Industry bestowed him the title of "The Logistics man of India" in 2021. Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon`ble Minister for Tourism, Culture and Development of the North-Eastern Region, released a postal Stamp issued by the Indian Postal Department to honour and recognise Shri Sharma`s contribution to the nation`s socio-economic development, in 2022. He was also honoured with the "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the Social Impact Award in Jan 2023, Rashtriya Gaurav Samaan from TV9 in 2024 and Man of Logistics Award by ET Auto . Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon`ble Minister for Road Transport and Highways, released a biographical book capturing the life journey of Shri Sharma in Hindi and Shri Brijesh Pathak, Dy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Shri Anurag Thakur, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs and Sport released his biography in Englishin early this year.
